How long does an epoxy floor last?
Installed properly on well-prepared concrete, an epoxy floor lasts many years without peeling. At ERA, the installation is backed by a 5-year warranty, and that warranty is honoured.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?
No. We can add an anti-slip additive to the finish, especially in garages, entrances and areas that can get wet. The surface stays safe, even when damp.
How long does the installation take?
It depends on the system. A flake garage takes about 2 days; metallic epoxy and solid colour, 3 to 5 days; quartz, 2 to 3 days. These timelines cover everything from grinding the concrete to the final finish. If repairs or self-levelling are needed, we usually plan for one extra day.
What's the difference between metallic epoxy and flake epoxy?
Metallic epoxy gives a deep, glossy marbled effect that's unique to every room, perfect for basements and living spaces. Flake epoxy offers a textured, satin finish that's very tough, ideal for garages and commercial spaces.
Does an epoxy floor resist hot tires and oil?
Yes. Our garage systems resist hot tires, oil, gas and de-icing salt. Everything cleans up with a simple hose-down or mop.
Is it a good solution for a basement after water damage?
Yes. An epoxy floor is waterproof and seamless, so it holds neither water nor mould. After a flood it cleans and disinfects easily, unlike carpet or a wood floor.
Do you offer a choice of colours?
Yes, a wide choice of colours, flakes and metallic pigments. We match the finish to your décor and show you the options before we start.
