Basement epoxy flooring

Epoxy floors

Basement epoxy flooring

Poured seamless over a prepared slab, for the dampest room in the house.

Our systems

In a basement, moisture comes up through the slab, and water gets there first when something leaks.

An epoxy floor holds neither water nor mould, and it cleans with a mop.

We pick the system based on what the room is going to become.

Metallic epoxy

When the basement becomes living space. The marbled finish is poured by hand over a moisture barrier, and no two floors look alike.

The prep

It all starts with the slab.

  1. 1

    Ground and repaired

We diamond-grind the concrete and repair the cracks. That's what gives the system its bond.

  2. 2

    Sealed against moisture

Under metallic and solid colour, a barrier blocks the moisture coming up from the slab.

  3. 3

    Levelled, if needed

If the floor isn't level, a self-leveller is poured before anything else.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about basements.

Which epoxy floor should I choose for a basement?

It depends on what the room is going to become. For living space, metallic. For a utility space or after water damage, flake is the most popular choice. ERA assesses every project on site before recommending a system.

Does epoxy hold up in a damp basement?

Yes. Metallic and solid colour go down over a barrier that blocks the moisture coming up from the slab, and the finish is waterproof.

How long does the install take?

About 2 days for flake, 3 to 5 days for metallic or solid colour. That covers everything from grinding the concrete to the final coat.

My slab has cracks. Is that a problem?

No. Cracks are repaired during prep, before the first coat, and ERA pours a self-leveller if the floor isn't level. Plan on about one extra day.

Is the floor guaranteed?

Yes. The installation is guaranteed for 5 years at ERA, and that guarantee is honoured.

How much does a basement epoxy floor cost?

The price depends on the area, the system and the condition of the slab. Send a few photos through the quote form or call us at 514-774-3164: you'll get a clear price, no pressure.
